Want to Impress
To this I know and do greatly confess
My image matters not except to YouThe only One I want to impressFor to this world be short lived, I knowTo stand for a moment in earthly fameOnly to later to become greatly blueBut to this to some be their gameTo social status a mask displayedWhere gains of attention be the aimI'm not down with the games now playedWilling to portray what one is notShowing the real me, this I'm not afraidIn acceptance He gave to me a lotNo need to pretend hoping to fame gainGod gave me all the attention I sought
Thus in fame my being with Him obtain
To this I know and greatly confessIt's my image to Him He does sustainAs the only One I want to impress

Thoughts: Outside image should not be all one is about. But so many people play into the imaginary social status this world promotes, only to be left hurt and blue once the real person is discovered. And many try to impress others so much that they become something or someone they really are not inside; which, is harmful to one's own self. Outside image should not be one's whole world; however, ironically that is what this world has become! Who can be the prettiest? Who can be the most gorgeous? Who can be the strongest? Who can be the most talented? Who can become the most richest and display this the most? Who can be the most important voice in the world? Who has the best body parts revealed? Who can do something to make other's eyes pop out of their heads the most? Who is the funniest? And so on and so on..... I ask, who are we trying to impress? Because, I guarantee you God's not impressed with all the worldly image seeking endeavors. We should be trying to please Him, not the world! "For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;... " (Colossians 1: 9-10. NKJV).We should be increasing in the knowledge of God and growing in spirit, not increasing in worldly image matters, nor how far up the social latter one can climb. Does it really make one a better person than everyone else to have the most friends on Social Media or to gain the most attention in the number of responses to what one post? I was recently a bit active on Social Media (in particular FB), and learned it really did nothing for me and it really didn't matter if people saw it or responded; other than a brief moment of laughter and/or care. It didn't make a heck of a lot of difference in my life. But, I did keep it real and what people saw was the real me. I'm not a big fan of Social Media, but I do see some advantages to having a FB profile and Messenger in keeping in contact with the people that matter in my life and in promoting Christianity. But, as far as promoting a fake image, that's child's play. Try being real, that's so hard for many adults these days. And, I know I've probably upset a few people, but that's keeping it real! In keeping it real, in a world where fake image seems to be everything these days, most important to me is in pleasing God. In this knowing with Him, I don't have to pretend, nor put on any fake image in doing so makes a huge difference in my life. That if there is anyone I want to impress, It is God Almighty!
Note: I don’t really promote my blog site, nor my books as I am not in it for the impressionist part, nor for the money. It’s simply a matter of spreading the word of Christianity for me.
