Understanding: Embracing Being Poor Experiencing something hard can bring understanding Where your spirit can be truly tested Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding This condition mentally and physically demanding Where stress did rise; however, was rested Experiencing something hard can bring understanding In struggling, life can leave you standing Where understanding is then digested Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding The fact you made it through is outstanding Where your knowledge was infested Experiencing something hard can bring understanding As this condition becomes longstanding Where experience then is congested Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding Your life now you embrace expanding Where your spirit was invested Experiencing something hard can bring understanding Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding    ©Doris Elaine

This form is Acrostic. It spells out something diagonally on the left side of each line. This form is a bit of a challenge to create in a rhyming poem. More of a challenge is a Double Acrostic, where in addition to left side is the spelling out on the right side in sequence after the left side. Haven't tried this yet. This poem of mine was published in 2005 in a literary poetry book; which, as of 2018 the organization  no longer exist or mutated into a larger organization/company. Here the poem and the accompanying  profile. Notice: My early poems did not rhyme much or not at all. I learned throughout my years of writing poems, that I love to write rhyming poems. But, content still exist. Don't Eliminate Me! Don't look at what I have been, But what I am! Don't hold me back because of my mistakes, But let me excel because of my skills!
