You complete me, Lord!

You Complete Me

I was blind, but You by my side I see
In this world seemed a piece of me missing
To You Lord I can say, You complete me

Even when to material things no plea
Fullness to my soul these things dismissing
I was blind, but You by my side I see

For in the pain of woes this world set free
To my past You forgiven in kissing
To You Lord I can say, You complete me

For Your embrace unlike any other
When into Your arms I fell in grace
You I belong, not seeking another

In You Lord I finally found my place
As in this world my being was lost
For in Your love my heart now does embrace

When to and froe my heart was tossed
I was blind, but You by my side I see
For in brokenness my heart You crossed
To You Lord I can say, You complete me

Thoughts: We reach for completeness in that hole in our hearts in many ways, such as: a career, a marriage, a significant other in our lives,  material things, or even motherhood or fatherhood. But these things by themselves is not enough to totally satisfy one. God knows our completeness comes in a relationship with Jesus Christ. We will always be a work in progress, but in being complete one learns that emptiness inside is filled through a relationship with Jesus and in dwelling in His love. I can now say, Lord You complete me.

Shine for The Lord

When one's being to this world is confine

The light inside can become dull

Making one's soul seem mostly null

The Lord can help one's soul bright as sunshine

If only one to Him believes He will

Give one a heart of love making one fine

As to this love one was design

Where the woes of the world become null

One's soul in love with Him is define

Shinning bright the world to see in lull

No longer one's soul to this world dull

As God bestow His love to shine devine

Poem of Thought

 Loving the Unlovely Test

It sometimes can make one highly stressed
In one's being seeing the importance
Passing the loving the unlovely test

To this spiritual test one has confessed
One has only known it's unimportance
For it sometimes can make one highly stressed

Only with God to this one is blessed
To grow in this area past self-importance
Passing the loving the unlovely test

The unlovely enter one's life as purposed
A lesson in spiritual growth to be
In loving one another as proposed

As we all have faults unlovely to see
Life has given or made us that way
For the knowing to this most can agree

When the test is given to one this day
One needs not let it make one highly stressed
Because God will bless you as He does say
You passed the loving the unlovely test
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: We all have unlovely ways due life and life's situations. Many times these unlovely ways of one's self one can't help. It can be stressful and hard to love another due one's unlovely way. But, we are not supposed to judge and think one's self better than the other just because one may have matured spiritually past this fault in one's self. Consider: Galatians 6:1-3 "Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such as one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear on another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself". (NKJV). In living Christ-like we are supposed to give understanding and kindness when dealing with the unlovely. And above all, not to judge lest we be judged in our unlovely ways. Dealing with the unlovely in life will always be tested in one's spiritual walk in life. It's important to mature spiritually in passing the loving the unlovely test.

Note: I know I can and do have some unlovely ways; some due character flaws and some due life situational flaws. If I have offended or caused anyone stress due this, please forgive me and please pray for my soul as I try to learn not to judge the unlovely in others; to instead love others.

A Poem for Thought

After The Storm Birds Do Sing

While in a storm tears become a thing
Once it's past one learns to use one's voice
Because after the storm birds do sing

In a storm emotions it does bring
One's being to this given no choice
As while in a storm tears become a thing

After new life is brought as in spring
As one got through in it to rejoice
Because after the storm birds do sing

In the storm hard, but with God by one side
He holds one's hand in letting one know
In this to it's end He does provide

Although in it one's voice does come slow
As tears turn into a shout of joy
It's over as one sings a hymn bestow

In times a storm comes to one to destroy
As in a storm tears become a thing
But with God strength given as its convoy
Because after the storm birds do sing
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: Ever notice how much and loud birds sing after a storm has past. Seems, it's the joy of making it through and of knowing a future is ahead that gives them their voice. Storms do pass and with God He can give one strength to get through in looking to one's future. Although hard in the mist of a storm when emotions can run high and one may shed a tear or two, once through a hymn of joy can grace one's life in trusting God to see one through. Given to this, perhaps much and loud in one's joy to sing as after the storm birds do sing.

Growing Strong in The Lord Poem

 Let Go and Live

One must learn how in life to thrive
This sometimes past situations make it hard
As one learns how to let go and live

Even when hurt in past, to this forgive
For in order to move on unbarred
In learning how in life to thrive

For one's future with God is well and alive
To one's past He's forgiven with regard
When one learns to let go and live

Hard to live good stuck in the past
It's to this hard place to self one does harm
As opportunity slips by ever so fast

To one's future He signals an alarm
In knowing with God your future is bright
As He guides one out of past to charm

When to one's past happiness a fight
One must learn how in life to thrive
Draw near to God in His foresight
In learning how to let go and live
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: We do sometimes get stuck in our past; especially when it has been hurtful and hard. In doing this we also forget, sometimes, how to thrive and live beyond our past. And in doing this we can also miss out on the "now' and "future" opportunities life has for us. But, no matter, how hurtful and/or hard one's past, with God one always has the joy of now and a bright future. One just needs to learn how to thrive beyond past and let go and live.

A Poem for Thought

 If It Works, It Works

We all have differences in our inner-works
Some are more extreme than others
Relations always are if it works, it works

For some are weird, wacky, and sometimes jerks
But in Christ we're all sisters and brothers
We all have differences in our inner-works

These differences can also have perks
Allowed to breath their own, not smothers
Relations always are if it works, it works

Understanding hard upon encounter
Patience needed to bond a connection
Even when the relation seems a downer

In this God knew in it's election
For destiny be if not to quit
Where strong the bond upon it's reflection

Relations work if differences we admit
As all have differences in our inner-works
And to this giving respect to commit
Relations always are if it works, it works
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: Relations, rather friends or more, will always have their ups and downs due each person having differences in their inner being; differences in opinion and in the way each operate in life. The key is in knowing this and respecting each other in their differences, as it is as God intended in a world of different beings. Bonding with another doesn't always come easy as there may be ups and downs before a sure bond is created. It takes time in understanding each other and patience in respecting each other's differences. The key is to not give up when there seems to be even the weakest connection. If the relation is God ordained it will always be if it works, it works.

Acrostic Poem-Faith, Hope, Love

 Faith, Hope, & Love

Faith is to have complete trust in Him above
Able in life to every situation to cope
In knowing His love He gives thereof
To our sinful nature He never says nope
Help from Him to this we are free of

Hope is a desire of a certain thing of scope
Ordered by God, to the one behove
Prompting one to not live on a tightrope
Elevating one's spirit to fly as a dove

Love desired by everyone, this be a slippery slope
Opening one's heart to receive true love
Valuable to God, one's heart He does elope
Evidence that of these three, the greatest is love
     ©Doris Elaine

Reference of Thoughts: Faith and Hope comes through our relationship with Jesus Christ; which equals or gives us the outcome of Love. And, Love being the greatest of all three.

"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and father, knowing. beloved brethren, your election by God" (1 Thessalonians 1:2-4. NKJV).

"But let us who are of the day sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet the hope of salvation" (1 Thessalonians 5:8. NKJV).

"And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (1 Corinthians 13:13. NKJV).

Growing Strong in The Lord Poem

 Gambler Vs. Investor

Your being can become a requestor
Then your soul does soon rage in war
Conflict be gambler vs. investor

Matters to which one allows to fester
And to which your thoughts you do pour
Your being can become a requestor

As sometimes your being can be a protestor
When to the win the outside given more
Conflict be gambler vs. investor

Wants and desires of flesh a gambler
That to one's being can take its toll
Where one's thoughts soon become as a rambler

Wants & desires an investor be the soul
Where focused thoughts of God feeds one's spirit
In helping to make one's being whole

Gambling on a flesh call can dispirit
As your being becomes a requestor
Waging war your soul that be inspirit
Conflict be gambler vs. investor
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: There is a spiritual war raging all around us; particularly over possession of our souls. The soul not being flesh that does be where evil attacks our being; in fleshly wants and desires. When one listens to one's fleshly desires more than one's spiritual desires one is gambling with one's own soul. We are all sinners, but we have been given the ability to make choices in what we do. When one listens more to one's God given spirit being in desires one is investing in the future of one's own soul. Our souls are in a raging war where conflict be gambler (Flesh) vs. investor (Spirit Being). Your Choice!

A Poem for Thought

 Given Not Earned

To this in life I have certainty learned
As God opened my eyes and soul to know
Spiritual things are given, not earned

As to the soul they flow and do show
To this in life I have certainty learned
I've learned its in His timing they grow
Spiritual things are given, not earned
     ©Doris Elaine

Reference of Thoughts: Sometimes its hard to wait for things of a spiritual nature when it seems one has been waiting a long time; including, things prayed for as prayers are spiritual. But one can not hurry God and try to make them happen, as they will happen in His timing as spiritual things are given, not earned.

Consider Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8 (NKJV):

"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

A time to be born,
 And a time to die
A time to plant,
 And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
 And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
 And a time to build up;
A time to weep,
 And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
 And a time to dance;
A time to cast stones,
 And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
 And a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to gain,
 And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
 And a time to throw away;
A time to tear,
 And a time to sew;
A time to keep silent,
 And a time to speak;
A time to love,
 And a time to hate;
A time of war,
 And a time of peace.

Growing Strong in The Lord Poem

Giving All My Trust in God

Hard to know these days due so much fraud
In giving of one's self it can be hard
I'm giving all my trust in God

Past hurt from humankind makes this flawed
Especially when to the heart it scarred
Hard to know these days due so much fraud

But God can fix what's broken in awed
Protection He gives one's soul to safeguard
I'm giving all my trust in God

Reinstatement in trust one looks to the Lord
For with Him one soon learns of peace
In knowing His love to your soul He poured

Then knowing in Him one's trust at ease
As one surrenders one's being to Him
The pain of past soon does then release

I know my trust not taken on a whim
Hard to know these days due so much fraud
For with Him I now sing praise with a hymn
As I'm giving all my trust in God
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: With so much fraud out there these days it's so hard to know who to trust. And especially when it comes to matters of the heart where in this matter one was greatly hurt in the past. Healing in someone's trust, basically being destroyed, may only come in placing one's trust in God in Him giving protection of one's heart. Many may want to say "come on, step out, take a chance". I have learned in dealing with one whose trust has been destroyed, you can't force trust upon them. And that it may take a very special and understanding and patient person to help this person to gain trust in anyone again. Some just don't have this understanding, nor patient, or are not willing to put the effort it would take to break through one's barriers placed in one's heart to ever trust again. And, it’s not their fault, they just haven’t had their trust broken in this manner, nor/or to this magnitude. Just because your trust may be destroyed does not bring down your value to humankind, in a sense this may raise your value in maturity; especially these days. It takes time to gain trust in any relationship and a mature person will understand this and be willing to give the effort needed. But one needs to understand and be mature enough themselves not to take advantage of others in this; that kindness goes a long way in any relationship and to just be honest. Know your value in other areas of your character that makes you, you. And know your value as a God fearing person in giving your heartfelt trust in God.

Growing Strong in The Lord Poem

 What I Want Doesn't Matter

When to my flesh my thoughts do scatter
My being can become greatly worried
But to this what I want doesn't matter

Considering wants or needs, its the latter
To where my focus should be hurried
When to my flesh my thoughts do scatter

He serves my needs on a silver platter
With God in this I'm always unworried
As to what I want doesn't matter

For the Lord knows me better than myself
If my wants don't soon come to light
I place my fleshly wants on a shelf

Because I know to this He gives me light
When to my wants my flesh cries out
As it may not be good, myself despite

Learning to these wants, not what its about
When to my flesh my thoughts do scatter
He does give my heart's desire with a shout
Because to what I want doesn't matter
     ©Doris Elaine

Thoughts: Sometimes our flesh can convince our being that we want something that we really do not need to carry on in our lives. Its okay to pray for things we want, but within that prayer always remember to say "In your will only, God". Put trust in God that He will give you your heart's desire and trust that He knows better than you to what your true heart's desire is. Then be patient in letting Him make that decision for you. "Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart" (Psalm 37:4. NKJV).  He will always provide you with your needs to survive in life and that's what matters, as to what I want doesn't matter; so much.
