A Poem For Thought

Stop Our Mess Forcing things to happen causes much anxiety One can then develop a great amount of stress This can also greatly affect one’s vitality Leaving one in a great big mess For some this becomes their propriety In making things happen they press But this can cause much notoriety Leaving one in great distress When living life in Christianity One learns that waiting is a process Relying on Him improves one’s sanity Trusting in Him for He will impress In the fast pace of today’s society Forcing happenings we can digress However, the Lord improves our mentality Wait and trust Him, and stop our mess    ©Doris Elaine Thoughts: Waiting and trusting in The Lord can sometimes be hard. Especially in our fast paced world we live today. But forcing things to happen can greatly turn out disastrously. Main reason is because that is our timing trying and not His and our timing can become quite messy.  Waiting and trusting in the Lord to move for you is always better than forcing things to hap

Poems from Social Media Musings Revisited

These Two Poems, I believe, need revising in honor of the season in tribute to Our Lord God! From " Social I Not ": God's Best One looks the worldwide over For a soulmate that's deemed a must In giving one's options a once-over It's God one must learn to trust For He will lead you to the one And to one's surprise it will come For the best to one will match none Under His guidance two is one to become Union of the best doesn't always come easy Especially when one has many to choose But God is never too busy One only needs to listen to God's voice  For the best His to give To one that is ready to receive Uniting of God's best for both to live In God one must learn to trust and believe ©Doris Elaine Today's Thoughts: If you are alone this Holiday Season, don't loose hope. It's hard when you have no significant other to share the Holidays with, but it's just for a season. In waiting and trusting in the Lord God, He will bring you Th

Consciousness Evolution? Evolution theorist believe we evolved Yet, can't explain consciousness So, they try to be absolved In this miracle of self-consciousness For evolutionist, this unsolved Awareness of self is not unconsciousness As for consciousness we have resolved We are aware our surroundings consciously This can not be from nothing As evolutionist claim anxiously Trying to make evolution a thing Even so, this thought subconsciously Gives the idea of a miracle it's offspring And, gives way to truth unconsciously Where consciousness from God did spring       ©Doris Elaine Thoughts: There are many human attributes that science can not explain; c onsciousness being one. If we evolved from matter, then where did the first matter come from? This too, something evolutionist avoid in answering because they can't explain. Avoidance is their answer to the miracles of life that's given from God above. Just being able to  consciously think about this is a miracle that mat

The Skill and Strength of Love Truth be told, this world money talks People are taught this from young Raised under this skill, love soon walks To one, love of money is then sung Where one is given the skill of struggle In survival, one is taught strong For love of money, there no juggle In the skill of survival, love there last long Let the skill of money fell one this world How fast one soon forgets how to love For then a struggle is then hurled And love then becomes void of Just because of money, one cannot give What one can teach, the skill of love Then when money fells, one soon can forgive One gave the strength of love, that to be proud of!      ©Doris Elaine Thoughts: For all the struggling parents, rather single or coupled, just because you may not be able to give much this year in this holiday season, don't get depressed because you are giving more then this world can. So many parents that can give, give , give to their children are giving in material things and forgetting

A Poem for Thought

Consequences of Worldly Conformity! Its all about giving face to draw attention Or maybe following others in universality To oneself this demeanor then their extension Others delight when one partakes their enormity Although, inside the spirit develops apprehension As one fakes the delight in this self-deformity For one's spirit rises in this awkward dissension As in the world one did give-in to this uniformity For as one partakes of worldly things to draw attention One suffers in the consequences of worldly conformity!      ©Doris Elaine Thoughts: It is easy to follow the ideas of others of how one is supposed to be in this world; especially when its attention one seeks. But, to do so can additionally have suffering consequences to one's soul when one knows it is not right, nor their way of being as a Christian. The Bible says "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-th

Stop Complaining And Try Moving Forward Sometimes life can have one bothered One cries and complains in these times Stop complaining and try moving forward Complaints can only bring disorder As people makes this as lifetimes Because sometimes life has some bothered When others complain, move onward Leaving that displeasure as their pastimes As you, stop complaining and try moving forward Stress complaining causes, does carry forward If allowed in your life as its primes As sometimes life can have one bothered Making one grouchy, that's straightforward As life does have its challenges sometimes Just, stop complaining and try moving forward When one complains, it generates toward Disappointments in life as oftentimes As sometimes life can have one bothered Stop complaining and try moving forward    ©Doris Elaine  1 Corinthians 10:9-10 "nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and where destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and where

Songs of Old with great meaning!

Here are two of John Denver songs that I believe have great meaning to Christianity and Poems. They are old, but still hold great meaning. He was, what I think, one of genuinely greatest down to earth song writer musician. As they are old, excuse the graphics, but, please listen to the words.  Please watch as they touched my heart! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4d-NmoMHBbE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPpRyjTP0a0 Powered by youtube.com

Understanding: Embracing Being Poor Experiencing something hard can bring understanding Where your spirit can be truly tested Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding This condition mentally and physically demanding Where stress did rise; however, was rested Experiencing something hard can bring understanding In struggling, life can leave you standing Where understanding is then digested Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding The fact you made it through is outstanding Where your knowledge was infested Experiencing something hard can bring understanding As this condition becomes longstanding Where experience then is congested Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding Your life now you embrace expanding Where your spirit was invested Experiencing something hard can bring understanding Being poor, hard to embrace notwithstanding    ©Doris Elaine

My Old Published Poem-2005

This poem of mine was published in 2005 in a literary poetry book; which, as of 2018 the organization  no longer exist or mutated into a larger organization/company. Here the poem and the accompanying  profile. Notice: My early poems did not rhyme much or not at all. I learned throughout my years of writing poems, that I love to write rhyming poems. But, content still exist. Don't Eliminate Me! Don't look at what I have been, But what I am! Don't hold me back because of my mistakes, But let me excel because of my skills! Don't look at my failures, But look at my accomplishments! Don't look at my past, But look at my future! Don't eliminate me because I'm not perfect, Because neither are you! Authors Profile: I wrote this poem as a reflection for all of us whom at some point in their lives had made a wrong choice; and that wrong choice changed our lives forever. My poem is a plead to everyone to remember our miscalculations when we see others who deserve a ch

A Poem for Thought!

All I Knew Was It Hurts! The pain starts deep inside Crushing your heart as it diverts Now seeing nothing as you complied All you know is it hurts! The not knowing what's implied When seeking God one exerts Praying to Him as your guide All you know is it hurts! He comforts you as you cried Giving to you joy He inserts Pain that was, now gone inside All you knew was it hurts!    ©Doris Elaine Thoughts: Sometimes its hard to see where the Lord is leading one and the not knowing can cause pain deep inside. But, the journey can also be amazingly wonderful even when not knowing where the journey leads. Sometimes only knowing the Lord and trusting His guidance is all you need. Joy comes out of the pain of not knowing when one puts there faith in the Lord in trusting Him with your life.  Proverbs 3: 5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding: In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths"  (NKJV).

Not Just A Uniform Working in customer service One isn't just a uniform But some still give them lip service Acting as if one is supposed to conform Treating one with great disservice Just because it seems the norm Working these days in customer service One is not just a uniform    ©Doris Elaine Thoughts: It's sad, but true, seems people do not know how to treat anyone properly in the public no more; especially towards one working in customer service. Most times all people see with one in customer service is a uniform in this-me, right now-society. What happened to "Y ou shall love your neighbor as yourself" (Matthew 22:39-NKJV). Makes one wonder does society hate itself  or do most people in society hate themselves!!

Breaking the Rules Comment

Hello Guys You know, I love reading and writing poetry. Although am a learned graduate with a double B.A. and half a Masters, my study major was not English, nor Creative Writing, nor any kind of Poetry study. However, English has been my favorite subject since I've been able to read and write. My college experience-later in life-did include writing several essays. Including, a 25 and 40 page existing essays where I scored “A's”. My essay's basically raised my grade to “A+ to B's”. I always-clearly every time- received an “A” on my essays, even the off-topic ones (few). Thus, I knew and know I can write interestingly enough to receive an “A”; to me, that means something. This prompted me to write poetry again. You see, I used to write poetry often, but prior to my blog and the publishing of my Chapbooks I had only written them on occasion, until about the last 2-3 years now writing them pretty steady. When an acquaintance read my poetry she told me they are really good,

Just A Poem For Thought

I wrote this poem May 11, 2019 in thought of how temporary our life here and the joy of knowing life exist after life here. This poem being a form of Villanelle, however, line length requirement of 8-10 syllables does not apply here. But, notice rhyming does! I'm Just A Visitor Here Am here as a sightseer Placed where I don't belong I'm just a visitor here However, this place I do endear But, know I want be here long Am here as a sightseer Not long before I disappear Must learn to be strong I'm just a visitor here To me it's perfectly clear Temporary in thoughts not wrong Am here as a sightseer However, this place I need not fear For God is by my side all lifelong I'm just a visitor here To Him I will return with cheer Where I sing my joy in a song Am here as a sightseer I'm just a visitor here ©Doris Elaine Breaking The Rules!

Published Poem Books exerts: Social I, Not & Not I, But I Am

Social I, Not Lying In Wait It came to me as a storm Leaving me greatly transformed I know not where to turn This thing I had never felt Was something that made me melt Tore a whole deep in my heart That hurt when threatened to depart Now time goes by as I lay in wait Hoping time would again open the gate To let this storm that left me transformed In once again so my heart would be warmed! Not I, But I Am What You Gave Me The Journey presented hard for me but the result did improve. What once was my reality; now resulting in my approve. In becoming my actuality what you gave me did remove found weakness I can now agree; was my heart that couldn't move. Realizing this I wanted to flee, but instead, now given a reprove. My place I now stand in glee, for what you gave to me, a heart that knows how to bleed.

Poem for Thought

Another Poem for Thought! I Was Yours From The Start You made it crystal clear to me Came early in setting me apart In this world I wasn't meant to be Underdeveloped lungs, destined to depart Being number four of six, my decree Born elsewhere from them, was my start Rare as a lefty, most would agree As some would say this sets me apart Four life threatening accidents, I thank thee For in your care I did not depart With you I was destined to be In this world Lord, I was yours from the start ©Doris Elaine

Just a Poem of Thought

Just a Poem of Thought Their Path, Not My Design In this world, we have a path Where some are different than mine Creating a path that leads to wrath Where being there for them, it's fine However, for me the feel of warpath Where being there was not my design And seeing this a thought aftermath For giving to my path a sign That leads to a different footpath In following them I must decline The path that leads to a bloodbath Where there I am no where near fine As in going down their path For their path was not my design Where their's is different than mine    ©Doris Elaine
