Go poets!

I ask a book marketing expert and author if he could write a book to help poet authors and he replied with “poetry is too small of a genre to be worth my time”. His words exactly! Oh…I see. He’s evidently gotten too big for his pants to help an on the rise genre-us poets-that is and will soon catch up with nonfiction and fiction writers. He claimed he has to weigh the return in investments. Well, poets might be a small genre, right now, that’s not worth his time in investments, he deemed, but, a genre that is on the rise would seem to be a pretty good long-term investment. I mean, you don’t see many books that focuse on helping poets in publishing and marketing. That being the case, with all the poets out there-more and more everyday-struggling yet rising to voice their poetry in this chaotic world that badly needs it, would seem to make a written book to help them sell like hotcakes; especially since there aren’t hardly, if any,  books focusing on this deemed small, yet rising, genre

A Tervillazanell (My Form Create) New Poem for You

Now, I'm Not Broken How mighty Your Love when I'm heartbroken For You do come to my rescue when I say I'm fine, but I'm not, I'm broken When to my heart Your kindness has spoken Healing to my soul then does begin  How mighty Your Love when I'm heartbroken Making sure my heart rises to unbroken Your Love gave place when to that again I say I'm fine, but I'm not, I'm broken Thanks to You my heart is now healing The hurt which caused my soul to break Your place deep down now is appealing My spirit rises with Your Love to awake  In knowing You love me no matter How long it does take to heal my ache When in this world my soul had shatter Mighty Your Love when I was heartbroken  You served Your Love on a golden platter With You now, I say, I'm not broken ©Doris Elaine

Sadly Informing

Hi guys, I’m will be making many decision over the course of the next several months. Sadly I’ve made one decision that was a really hard decision for me to make. I’m letting my longtime  “rhymes” name to my blog go. I’ve used that name in one way or another now for several years. I have also used the “redemptive” name in different ways for a few years now. I’m letting both names go. You see, I’ve come to a place where I’m not writing much poetry. I’ve written close to 800 poem-including those unpublished and or tossed-over the course of the last six years; most of which was out of the need to express myself in poetry as that being the only way I could at the time. However, now my expressionable needs have changed. I will be focusing more on writing post, articles, novellas and or novels (maybe), and just plain promoting rhyming poetry on occasion; after all I still prefer rhyming poetry and did creat my own rhyming form. It wouldn’t make since for me to pull away from poetry altogeth

Change is coming!

Hey guys! Just want you, my dedicated and wonderful audience to know I’m making changes to my blog; which you will see in the coming months. In addition, I am working hard to reformat, then relaunch, my books. This is why the Memoir book is taking so long. For that I do apologize. I was gifted a writing software for my birthday and the learning curve is kind of steep, so different than Microsoft Word; but I’ll get it. You will notice my activity here to be a bit slow while I work on my books. I also hold down a job which cuts into my time to work on my writing; so my time to write is currently limited. Please bear with me as I work on my writing endeavors.  Thank you, wonderful people. I appreciate the attentiveness you all give me.  ~Doris

Why Rhyming Poetry?

First let me say, Poetry in a worldwide language found in every nation of the world. According to  Dr. LATHA VELAVAN Asst. Professor of English , In her article The Study of Poetry (find article link below) "Poetry is the first type of literature found in all the nations of the world. It enables people to read and understand other branches of Knowledge. Philosophers and historians started writing their works in poetic forms." (ph. 27). Her article is 37 pages long, but well worth the read; very enlightening. Did you know in Greek the word poet means, maker or creator. I wanted to put that whole bulleted section of her article, but it would have been way too long. Basically in that section of her article, she is giving a synoposist of a critic of poetry and a fan of poetry squaring off. The fan does a very good job in showing the advantages and superiority of poetry: "Conclusion: Sidney has established the superiority of poetry over other branches of learning. He has s

Something Beautiful

Something Beautiful   I've learned to this indisputable  As no one else can do it like You can Turn broken into something beautiful Making that broken to self suitable  Finishing that within where it began I've learned to this indisputable  Turning inside out to approvable In showing Your glory as You than Turn broken into something beautiful As one allows You to sew together The pieces that shattered deep within One's transformation new altogether A portrait of spiritual growth wherein You replace one's damaged soul anew As You bestow Your love to one therein Then one learns a love once never knew I've learned to this it's indisputable As love did blossom giving a breakthrough Turning broke into something beautiful                      ©Doris Elaine

"Supreme Motivator"

Supreme Motivator   Your disposition to mine is greater  As I think of You I am highly moved Your love is the supreme motivator You gave me highest life as my creator  As with You my being is approved Your disposition to mine is greater To live my life in You as my Savior For in Your love I am improved Your love is the supreme motivator You loved me before I knew of love Showing me to Your love I am worthy As You showered Your love from above Loosening chains of my heart unworthy Breaking free my spirit that was in bonds For this I know Your love is  praiseworthy And now in Your love my heart responds Your disposition to mine is greater In moving my being that corresponds Your love is the supreme motivator                      ©Doris Elaine

"The Place I Fit In"

The Place I Fit In  Sometimes one can fall out of place within  As our world prescribes an ideal image But with You I know the place I fit in For here belonging is living therein  This place where image creates for one a cage Where one can feel out of place within As to here one's place is that of sin Where fitting in one's being in bondage But with You I know the place I fit in You gave a place where my being is free A place of joy beyond this world's likeness To live in Your image a place with Thee My soul lives free from this place of stress For my place with You from sin I'm set free Free to grow in Your image a place of progress For to live a place where growth can disagree Sometimes one can feel out of place within Thanks to You Lord my place does agree For with You is the place where I fit in                      ©Doris Elaine

New Poem

Here a poem for you in a secular sense. I do write them sometimes and decided to post this one. I guess I got bored. 😉 Hope you catch it's meaning.  Play Faces Cruising through life that's full of interfaces One becomes aware of people's deceit In learning it's hard to ignore play faces Social media being one of those places Where to real people often cheat Cruising through life that's full of interfaces Then deep down to fake one's being replaces The real that once did have a heartbeat In learning it's hard to ignore play faces Absorbed in the world of social dealings One loses one's self image that once was real Where appearance gives way to feelings Make believe then becomes one's world to deal  Creating stress deep down for one to live As a double life becomes the ordeal A cold heart replaces that once was alive Cruising through life that's full of interfaces  When one decides in partaking to thrive Then it becomes hard to ignore play face

Development Notice

Welcome to my updated format of this blog. You may notice some of the post, at this time, look a bit wonky. I have a great deal of content to shuffle through before the post will be fixed. Please be patience in my effort of transitioning this site into a strictly poetry blog site. Have decided to keep this site for that purpose, as me and this site have been through a great many morphs in the way of renaming and reformatting. Hopefully this will be the finale format and name. This site will consist of mostly poems (both past and present) and perhaps some emphases on rhyming poetry in the context of web articles and written post. Additionally, I am in the process of creating my author site; which, I will announce upon it's launch. For now, you can access my books on Amazon here . Thanks! Please stay tuned!

Poem preview "Pressing on With Hope"

This poem preview is from Growing Strong in The Lord - Part One, I Am Sowed By God's Words. It can be hard to cope in life, sometimes. But I have learned as long as I keep focused on the Lord in my Hope of being with Him beyond this world into eternity, things then don't look so bleak. The Lord is my Hope in hard times because I know each and every time He brings me through to a place of peace. Relying on the Lord is detrimental in times of struggle; rather, that struggle be physical or mental. God's grace suffices every single time. We just have to learn to be patience in Him and know He will see one through in pressing on in Hope.  Pressing on With Hope Sometimes in life it’s really hard to cope In the Lord one given no more than can bare So one presses on in Him with hope   At times it seems your on a tightrope To one side or the other you may err Because in life it’s really hard to cope   Looking at past times under a microscope Due His grace to you bowing in prayer

A Poem preview from "Growing Strong in The Lord" collection part one

Hi Guys, Here another poem preview from the "Growing Strong in The Lord" collection. This one is from I Am Sowed, By God's Words - Part One . It was written in the Villanelle poem form (one of my favorites to write). This poem has and still remains to be one of my favorites I had written, as it reminds me to be thankful of the beauty God gave us in the complexity of nature in this world He created for us.  Thanks for The Beauty Lord What you gave greatly adored Its seen in your creation Thanks for the beauty Lord You gave flowers that are vastly colored Giving sense of smell a sensation What you gave greatly adored For in the blue-sky birds soared Giving sense of sight an admiration Thanks for the beauty Lord Nature walks where one explored Giving sense of touch confrontation What you gave greatly adored The mountains of some unexplored What a spectacular sight foundation Thanks for the beauty Lord The farmland that grows reward Helping us fight against starvation What

Poem "Desperation: Help Please"

Desperation: Help Please  I thought waiting on You would be a breeze  But don't know how much longer I can wait Lord I have desperation; help please This loneliness brings me to my knees  In giving You my desire to create I thought waiting on You would be a breeze Now my wait is getting hard to appease In wondering if this be my fate Lord I have desperation; help please I've waited so long my heart does plead Please give me an answer to my prayer To that of a true friend to this I need Although I know to this You are aware Desperation's taken hold of my soul Leaving my being in great despair As loneliness now has taken control Thoughts waiting on You no longer a breeze For time in this thought has taken it's toll Now Lord I have desperation; help please                      ©Doris Elaine

New Poem "Enjoy The Moments"

Enjoy The Moments  How time in life can come and destroy  When times of struggles one blind in seeing Moments that went too fast to enjoy In struggles are few the moments of joy They come so fast and soon are fleeing As time in life does come and destroy Soon moments gone to struggles that deploy The reality of life to one's own being Of moments that went too fast to enjoy For how temporal time spent with y'all And moments even less sacred Due my time not realizing them at all How I wish to those moments created Although brief I'd spent them better yet still Before in time those moments had faded The moments meant to enjoy if one will As time in life can come and destroy When struggles take away the thrill Of moments that went too fast to enjoy                      ©Doris Elaine

Two more poems preview for "Growing Strong in The Lord - part one"

Hi guys,  Here two more poems from the "Growing Strong in The Lord" two book collection. Still presenting previews from part one,  I Am Sowed, By God’s Words. These two poems remind us not to judge others; in particular the poor. "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you." (Matthew 7:1-2). Anyone can go from being well-off to being poor in an instant. Some have the misconception that if one is poor it is of their own doings. That's not always true! There are many circumstances where one can not help one's financial status. Perhaps, God does watch how we treat, not only the poor, but everyone in His righteous  judgment. But, in particular, how we treat the poor.  Through The Eyes of The Poor For in this world of riches one hides But through the eyes of the poor Is mostly where the Lord decides As to what they see does adhere To the judgement He provides In them He becomes their savior

New Poem "Hope for Friendship"

Hope for Friendship While the idea appealing of courtship It isn't always how it should start out Sometimes we should only hope for friendship In the act of one on one fellowship Advancing as friends is what its about When the idea appealing of  courtship In relating you kindle a kinship As trust becomes gained with no doubt When in this we only hope for  friendship Although in courtship its love hoped for With true friendship love is always there As care becomes that one does adore A friend by your side to life you bear In the highs and lows to this create A bond you both do gratefully share Just knowing one is true to you is great While the idea appealing of courtship For in true feelings where friends do make Sometimes we should only hope for friendship                     ©Doris Elaine

Two poems preview for "Growing Strong in The Lord - part one"

Here two more preview poems from my Growing Strong in The Lord Collection. These are from where I left off in my Part One previews. I will be mostly posting preview poems, as promised, from my published books. Rarely will you see a new poem here on this site. These two poems from my Growing Strong in The Lord- Part One, "I Am Sowed By God's Words" , came out of knowing God was with me during an impact with my car and a full grown and huge doe deer. I listed these two poems just days apart, as I still felt the grace God delivered me that fateful day; reminding me of His grace and presence throughout my life.  It's Not Luck, But Grace ⭐ When one is thrown a curve ball Like something unexpected takes place That can bring an unforeseen pitfall One holds tight and does brace As one calls on the Lord above all He then sees you through this place In the aftermath you then recall The Lord got you through, you embrace For He can, no matter how big or small And then you rea
