The Difference
I belonging this world not the same
Involving myself pleasures being here
Wondering to what my being became
When to other's ways I play their game
My real being did slowly disappear
I belonging this world not the same
In trying my best to here gain fame
To this making my ways endear
Wondering to what my being became
As I look in the mirror seeing change
Realizing to this hard to smile
Because what I do see now strange
Have not seen the real me in awhile
For to this world my being belong
To this difference my true self exile
Now to my being I fail myself
I belonging to this world not the same
When to my true ways I have shelf
Wondering to what my being became
When to this world not the same to oneself
One must ask to what be the difference
Then try to this world to distance thyself
In being honest and true to yourself
Realizing it's okay as indifference
When to this world not the same to oneself
One must leave this world to itself
When to the Lord one makes preference
And try to this world to distance thyself
His directives to be here not of here
Being the difference belonging to Him
To this one's soul does indeed hear
For to be here one's being is slim
Where temporal this difference at bay
As being of this world one's soul be dim
Now a being shines with Him display
When to this world not the same to oneself
Different here this way without delay
And try to this world to distance thyself

Thoughts: It's easy to get caught up in the ways of the world; thus, belonging to the world. Yes, we humans are habitual creatures, but we also possess a fabulous mind where we can make determined decisions. Determining rather we want to be in the world or of the world. In belonging to the Lord, He directs us to be in the world, not of the world (1 John 2:15). Belonging to Him, not the world, this be the difference.
