Because I Refuse To Blend
When in this world the norm is to pretendI ask the Lord to guide me throughGive me strength because I refuse to blendTo others I do not mean to offendWhen I refuse to conform to other's viewWhen in this world the norm is to pretendFor it's to You Lord I do dependAs in my commitment to You I grewGive me strength because I refuse to blendSometimes in this world I do weakenWhen I see everyone following the flowThen Your guidance shines bright as a beaconIn following You instead I knowMy soul leaps with excitement in gainsAs my being then guided and growsSometimes this world gives emotional strainsWhen in this world the norm is to pretendThankful the Lord saves me from these painsHe gives me strength because I refuse to blend

Thoughts: In a world where it seems everyone else is doing something it can be hard when it's not your way of being. When your way is to not go with the flow of what everyone else is doing. Such as: wearing inappropriate clothing, cussing, making fun of others, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, gossiping about others...the list goes on and on. Just because these things seem the norm and are accepted of our world today does not mean we should follow the crowd, so to say. As Christians, we are set apart and should not feel we have to pretend just to blend in. "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God". (Romans 12:2. NKJV). It can sometimes seem in being yourself, you don't fit in and/or are awkward. And, some people who do go with the flow or do blend in just don't understand you. It's okay to not pretend to be someone or something your not just to blend in. I follow God as I know He accepts me as I am, no matter, what the world thinks of me. Sometimes, too, one may get the feeling that no one will ever accept you as you are; but, believe me God does and He will eventually bring people, true friends, your way that will accept as you are where you do not have to try and blend in. I myself have a hard time in connecting with others as I get nervous and awkward, simply because I am not a social butterfly and I refuse to put myself out there socially just to become comfortable and experienced at something that is not me just because it seems everyone in the world is doing it when that would be pretending to be someone or something I'm not. If not accepted by others as I am, I refuse to follow the crowd just to blend in. This blog site is about as social as I know how and are okay to get as I know the Lord understands my being and will help me in my awkwardness in social interaction. That's just me not pretending because I refuse to blend.
