A Poem of Thought

  Keep Your Day

Staying focused on You, this day I pray
On my day of rest in thinking of You
My Lord, help me to keep Your day

Sometimes this day my mind does stray
Where to other things my thoughts only grew
Staying focused on You, this day I pray

Life sometimes takes my thoughts of You away
I try my best in making them stay
My Lord, help me to keep Your day

For the sabbath is a day of rest
Seven days a week, this be just one
Where to Him my thoughts and actions attest

Giving You praise this day my work is done
Resting in Him on this day of the week
Building my strength with You, my thoughts undone

Thoughts of work out of sight, its You I seek
Staying focused on You, this day I pray
With my thoughts on You this day of the week
My Lord, help me to keep You day

Thoughts: What one day of the week is the Sabbath that we are to keep holy? "Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the Lord your God commanded you". (Deuteronomy 5:12. NKJV). Well, from what I know and have examined, it is man that created Sunday as God's Holy Day. I believe the Catholic church, through the then Pope, announced and implemented Sunday as God's holy day. But, the Bible does not point out any particular day of the week as the Sabbath.  "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God." (Exodus 20:8-10. NKJV). It doesn't matter what is your six days of the week you work, only that you rest in the Lord on your seventh day of the week. Many people do not have a choice rather to work on Sunday or not. We, as Christians, go to church on Sunday because that is the day that most churches celebrate this one day a week in observance of this one day a week of rest; only. This day of rest was given to man by God, not man made for this day. "And He said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man made for the Sabbath. Therefore, the Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath". (Mark 2:27-28. NKJV). God gave us a day to rest from our labors as a gift to humanity. We praise Him in appreciation in keeping our thoughts on Him and our actions holy on one day a week in honor of this gift. It can be a challenge sometimes, when one has to work seven days a week, or have laboring things that need to be done on that seventh day. But, even in these times, keeping one's thoughts on the Lord is honoring and giving thanks to God for this one day a week of rest He gave us; no matter, what that one day is. Now, I'm not saying that only that one day a week one should have one's thoughts resting in God. No! I am saying, however, the Sabbath is not one particular day of the week one should keep as holy, as Sunday that man made, rather it is just one day a week whatever day of the week it ends being. Even though, a challenge for me at times, I ask the Lord to help me keep this one day a week, His day, holy.

Sadly Informing

Hi guys, I’m will be making many decision over the course of the next several months. Sadly I’ve made one decision that was a really hard decision for me to make. I’m letting my longtime  “rhymes” name to my blog go. I’ve used that name in one way or another now for several years. I have also used the “redemptive” name in different ways for a few years now. I’m letting both names go. You see, I’ve come to a place where I’m not writing much poetry. I’ve written close to 800 poem-including those unpublished and or tossed-over the course of the last six years; most of which was out of the need to express myself in poetry as that being the only way I could at the time. However, now my expressionable needs have changed. I will be focusing more on writing post, articles, novellas and or novels (maybe), and just plain promoting rhyming poetry on occasion; after all I still prefer rhyming poetry and did creat my own rhyming form. It wouldn’t make since for me to pull away from poetry altogeth

A Tervillazanell (My Form Create) New Poem for You

Now, I'm Not Broken How mighty Your Love when I'm heartbroken For You do come to my rescue when I say I'm fine, but I'm not, I'm broken When to my heart Your kindness has spoken Healing to my soul then does begin  How mighty Your Love when I'm heartbroken Making sure my heart rises to unbroken Your Love gave place when to that again I say I'm fine, but I'm not, I'm broken Thanks to You my heart is now healing The hurt which caused my soul to break Your place deep down now is appealing My spirit rises with Your Love to awake  In knowing You love me no matter How long it does take to heal my ache When in this world my soul had shatter Mighty Your Love when I was heartbroken  You served Your Love on a golden platter With You now, I say, I'm not broken ©Doris Elaine
