Poem for Thought - "Chasing Life"

Chasing Life

Many try so hard at the high-life
In gains of what they can have here
Gamblers chase money, I chase life

More important is the after-life
For to here we do disappear
As many try so hard at the high-life

Chasing money can cause much strife
Placing one's being in turmoil and fear
Gamblers chase money, I chase life

It doesn't matter to material I gain
For after here I can't take it with me
So what does it matter to what I attain

In knowing this I am set free
From the life of chasing money
Because more important is life with thee

For life with God will be very sunny
As many try so hard at the high-life
I'd rather chase life over money
Gamblers chase money, I chase life

Thoughts: Gambling with where your soul will be after this life, in heaven or hell, is something many people don't even think about when they are engaged in obtaining riches in this life. Some even have to have the best of the best; even, all the way down to what food they eat. This is sad when there are so many people in the world doing without. And, so many people in the world eating what ever they can get their hands on. Why do people feel they need the prime cut of meat, when their human shell will be just as satisficed, if not more, with something on their bellies? People need to be more worried about where they will be spending their eternal life than in gains of what they can get here in this life. "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life" (1 Timothy 6:17-19. NKJV). Although, having a good life here in gains of materialistic face saving attributes is something that many wish for, it does nothing for your soul; only for your life while here. It's okay to want, to me, it's a matter of if I need. Something I don't need is a life of chasing money, as a gambler would. I'd rather not be a gambler with my soul in chasing money or in saving face in gains of materialistic attributes; rather, I prefer to chase eternal life!

Sadly Informing

Hi guys, I’m will be making many decision over the course of the next several months. Sadly I’ve made one decision that was a really hard decision for me to make. I’m letting my longtime  “rhymes” name to my blog go. I’ve used that name in one way or another now for several years. I have also used the “redemptive” name in different ways for a few years now. I’m letting both names go. You see, I’ve come to a place where I’m not writing much poetry. I’ve written close to 800 poem-including those unpublished and or tossed-over the course of the last six years; most of which was out of the need to express myself in poetry as that being the only way I could at the time. However, now my expressionable needs have changed. I will be focusing more on writing post, articles, novellas and or novels (maybe), and just plain promoting rhyming poetry on occasion; after all I still prefer rhyming poetry and did creat my own rhyming form. It wouldn’t make since for me to pull away from poetry altogeth

A Tervillazanell (My Form Create) New Poem for You

Now, I'm Not Broken How mighty Your Love when I'm heartbroken For You do come to my rescue when I say I'm fine, but I'm not, I'm broken When to my heart Your kindness has spoken Healing to my soul then does begin  How mighty Your Love when I'm heartbroken Making sure my heart rises to unbroken Your Love gave place when to that again I say I'm fine, but I'm not, I'm broken Thanks to You my heart is now healing The hurt which caused my soul to break Your place deep down now is appealing My spirit rises with Your Love to awake  In knowing You love me no matter How long it does take to heal my ache When in this world my soul had shatter Mighty Your Love when I was heartbroken  You served Your Love on a golden platter With You now, I say, I'm not broken ©Doris Elaine
